Forum

The bottom line is this is a case of environmental injustice. My forum is responsive architecture. I have proposed a health center. This would serve as supplementary to the hospital, as well as additional medical aid for the surrounding community.

Location: Corner of Malcolm X Boulevard and 135th. This location is accessible to medical professionals as well as in close proximity to public housing and the community at large.

When entering the structure an individual would be confronted with several services. These services include information kiosks, immediate medical supplies, vaccinations, masks, quick checkups, as well as can consult with a medical professional from the hospital. A level above this stands the main community space, this space is utilized as a lobby area, meeting, and event space. The space would be transformable.

As you enter the last set of spaces, the user would be confronted by offices and spaces that prioritize mental health and wellness. These include balcony spaces for reading and lounging. The interior spaces include rooms for yoga, meditation, or even spaces for counseling. The user goes through a bodily experience: discomfort to relief.
